Bryn Afon seems to hover above the Afon Llugwy in the centre of Betws y Coed, just over Pont y Pair and the incredible torrents and waterfalls which flow beneath it. Visitors flock to see this gorgeous spot where you have fantastic views either from one of Bryn Afon's riverside terraces or from the comfort of the house itself. Ideal for large family groups or getting together with friends with mountains and footpaths almost on your doorstep.
This handsome house sits in perhaps the finest position in Betws y Coed. Enter through the porch and vestibule and you'll find a Bolthole rich in beautiful period features. There's large, well-equipped kitchen, a spacious dining/living room and separate snug. All flooded with light which cascades through the sash windows - there are stunning views of the river and bridge.
Down the steps to the lower ground floor which houses a handy utility room with washing machine and dryer, a games room and a unique feature for us, a special bedroom just for furry companions. There's also a further shower room. Steps from the lower ground floor lead to a large parking area and storage sheds and over to a fenced river terrace. To the front of the house there is a beautiful sunny terrace with seating and the best views imaginable.
Climb the stairs to the first floor where you'll find four double bedrooms, all with ensuite shower rooms. And the second floor has a further double bedroom with an adjacent shower room and a suite (double bedroom, sitting area and large shower room).
Betws y Coed is one of the most beautiful of Snowdonia's villages and a mecca for walkers and artists. There are good pubs, restaurants, art galleries, cafes, outdoor shops and Zip World Fforest within a stone's throw. The local Spar has an excellent bakery.
Walk along the idyllic riverside path upstream and you'll reach the Miner's Bridge and Swallow Falls within a mile, downstream beyond the Afon Llugwy's confluence with the Afon Conwy is the Fairy Glen and Conwy Falls.
The vast Gwydyr Forest surround the village and mountain bikers can access the famous Gwydyr Trails (Marin) from the house. Walkers can explore forests, lakes and mountains all from the doorstep. All of Snowdonia awaits!
