Cae'r Borth is a holiday house carefully designed by its owners for family getaways and social gatherings. And with its own private beach and a large, sheltered garden, you won't be in a rush to leave! Positioned for the views, it was built to solidly withstand the buffeting of the wind and winter storms. And the views it commands are simply superb.
Here you can soak up the sun in the colourful garden, explore the Anglesey coastal path at your leisure, hunt through rock pools on the beach and splash in the sea on your own private beach. Or, simply potter, relax and take in the sights from the comfort of the reading room, kitchen or conservatory. This stunning backdrop will be a perfect foil for pre-dinner drinks. On warm days, open the French doors from the dining room onto the sheltered garden terrace, sit back and savour the scene.
All the living rooms are located on the first floor allowing you to make the most of the wonderful views. And if you enjoy cooking, you will love the large airy kitchen which boasts a coastal vista down over Lligwy Beach and beyond. And what a wonderful place to enjoy convivial breakfasts seated around the big kitchen table! The kitchen is well equipped with double ovens, two dishwashers, a double fridge freezer and a fully stocked Espresso machine. A separate utility room houses a washing machine, tumble drier and there's plenty of space to dry out sea-soaked towels.
For more formal meals, the dining room, which is next door to the kitchen, houses a huge mahogany table and chairs and there are French doors leading out onto a sheltered garden terrace.
This is a large house with plenty of room for social gatherings and with secrets spaces from which to enjoy peace and quiet. There's even an office with a big wooden desk and chair and printer – ideal if work has to join you on your holiday, which from time to time, can be the case.
With seven roomy bedrooms, four of which are ground floor, there's plenty of “where to sleep” choice. On the ground floor, there's a double bedroom and twin room which share a large shower room and a cosy sitting area. Across the entrance hall lie a further two interlinked bedrooms, accessed through the office – a double with ensuite and a single bedroom with an extra trundle bed known as “the sewing room”. There's also a separate cloakroom with WC and hand basin.
Upstairs on the first floor are two further roomy bedrooms, one double ensuite and one twin ensuite plus a family bathroom. And if you wind your way up a separate staircase from the kitchen, tucked in the eaves of the house is a further large double bedroom with a zip & link bed that can be made into two singles on request; there's a bathroom across the landing, and combined they create a quiet space to rest, away from the buzz of the rest of the house.
Cae'r Borth has three separate sitting areas, allowing guests to spread out and relax. The reading room next the kitchen commands wonderful views of the garden and coastline, Sink into the comfy sofas and take your pick from a large TV or plenty of books. There's a cosy wood-burning stove ready to be lit on cooler evenings. At the other end of the first floor is the drawing-room; warmed by an open fire and hung with paintings redolent of the family history that underpins Cae'r Borth. With a choice of sofas to relax on, this is a lovely space in which enjoy drinks with friends or perhaps a sneak a little downtime. And leading out of the drawing-room is a sunroom with the most stunning panoramic sea views.
