Nestled in a tranquil setting just 3.5 miles from Aberdovey is this welcoming retreat for large groups of up to 14 guests. You ll be surrounded by woodland walks and breathtaking scenery, so you may find it difficult to tear yourself away from the stretch of beach and natural harbour. Venturing into Aberdovey, you ll have a plethora of activities at your disposal including water sports galore, boat trips and even golf thanks to the 18 hole championship golf course. Known for being where the mountains meet the sea at the mouth of the River Dyfi, Snowdonia National Park has such a diverse landscape that you will be able to tailor your adventures to suit all abilities. For starters, the peaks of the Cader Idris are within 16 miles and promise stunning viewpoints from the summit. Perfectly tailored to large groups, your accommodation is split between two charming cottages that are brimming with character and have ample space for socialising together. The first is the largest of the two, acting as a hub for all those special evenings you ll be spending together dining in style, watching films and playing games. Enter via the hallway to discover a simple yet comfortable lounge/kitchen/diner complete with a grand table with enough seating for your entire party. There are deep sofas centred around a crackling wood burner for cosy evenings, and a TV and DVD to keep you entertained. The kitchen area has a Belling range cooker with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave for all your practical needs. Three bedrooms are also on this level and provide a peaceful sanctuary after a busy day. Choose from either a pretty twin, a room with garden access and a double four poster bed, or a handy bunk bedroom that will prove popular amongst the youngest guests. There are two separate WCs and two shower rooms. Wooden stairs bring you to the first floor where you will discover a generous family bathroom for long soaks in the shower over the bath, and there is also a WC. Completing this property are two attractive bedrooms with storage and handcrafted raised double beds. Adjacent to this property is a smaller, yet equally delightful cottage that s reached via a bright conservatory. It is perfect if you wish to split into smaller groups and it would serve families with young children well as it offers a touch of privacy away from the hustle and bustle. There s a pleasant twin room with garden doors and bedroom furniture, a shower room with a shower and WC, and an open plan living space with homely decor, painted stone walls and timber beams. Light the wood burner and snuggle up on the sofa, settle down at the small table for tea and cake, and rustle up something simple in the kitchen using the variety of equipment that includes a fridge, a gas oven and hob. Upstairs, the final bedroom consists of a double bed and useful furniture for storage. Please note that the window to this bedroom is directly adjacent to the road side. In terms of laundry facilities, you ll find a washing machine and dryer in one of the outbuildings. Studded against a backdrop of woodland and sweeping countryside, the properties enjoy enclosed grassy surroundings and lots of spots to relax. Choose from a sunny courtyard with bench style seating, or head through to the front patio and picnic in style at the benches whilst the children play in the sandpit. There s also a large rear garden complete with natural amphitheatre seating and a BBQ area. Wander down the working boatyard path to the slipway to access the beach and natural harbour ready to spend the day embracing the water. Fishing from the rocks and foreshore may reward you with sea bass, plaice and mullet, and you ll have your own deep water mooring should you wish to bring your own boat (via arrangement with owner). For the thrill seekers amongst your party, the harbour is a treat for wild swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking and swimming.
