Ashcoast House is a modern 3 bedroom self catering holiday cottage located in the small rural village of Talysarn in Nantlle Valley, roughly halfway between the town of Caernarfon and Porthmadog harbour. Rhyd-Ddu path to Snowdon summit is 6 miles away. A further 4 miles and you'll reach the village of Beddgelert. The nearest beach is the award-winning Dinas Dinlle, a 10 minute drive away. Near Porthmadog, the idyllic seaside village of Borth-y-Gest with its beautiful sandy beaches and coves is also well worth a visit.
Ashcoast House is within 10 minutes walking distance of Dorothea lakes: Five large and very deep former slate quarry pits that have been filled up with water from underground springs. A well-defined and easily accessible footpath, straight from the house, takes you around and between the lakes to the village of Nantlle. Perfect for walking dogs or just stretching your legs and enjoying the views.
For the serious walkers, hikers and lovers of mountain pursuits, Talysarn is ideally situated, with easy reach of the Nantlle Ridge peaks. Mynydd Graig Goch (608m), Garnedd Goch (700m) and Craig Cwm Silyn (734m), the highest point of Nantlle Ridge, are all accessible on foot. You can leave the car at the house and walk for miles from the doorstep, exploring the mountains, rivers and lakes.
Dogs on holiday
All dog owners know how difficult it can be holidaying with dogs. You love them dearly and wouldn't dream of not having them with you on holiday, but wouldn't it be nice if you could have a night off? To go for a nice meal or a drink? To sit inside a restaurant or a pub for a change and most importantly not having to worry about them? At Ashcoast House you can. We would be more than happy to look after your dogs in our house, while you have a well-deserved night off.
Thinking of climbing Snowdon? Hiring mountain bikes and spending the day in the glorious Beddgelert Forest? Perhaps you would enjoy an adrenaline-packed day on the wires at Snowdonia Zip-World or surfing the waves at Surf-Snowdonia? But you are worried about your dogs? Just let us know in advance and we will look after them while you are out during the day. They will be safe and sound so you can relax and make the most of the day.
