This stone-built barn conversion lies off a private track in Y Felinheli, just outside the city of Bangor, in North Wales. Offering quality accommodation for a group of five, Avalon is attached to the owner’s home and provides a fabulous holiday base in tranquil surroundings. Upon arrival, find an outdoor decking equipped with two picnic and garden benches, offering a real sun trap for alfresco dining. Enter through the French doors into the living/dining room, where you can lounge on the sofas after a day of walking or pull out the dining table and prepare for a hearty family feast. The amply-equipped kitchen comes with slate flooring and windows on all sides, making it a light and spacious area to cook in, whilst the benefits of an electric oven, hob, fridge, freezer and even a dishwasher are sure to come in handy. Venture up the winding staircase to reach a large landing, complete with a high-pitched ceiling and a library of boardgames to keep you entertained. Retire to the family room where a double and single bed offer room for three, whilst across the landing there is a double with en-suite basin and WC, each well furnished with matching units and ample storage space. Close to the A55, Avalon enjoys a good touring location for North Wales; within a short drive you can access the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, home to many vibrant town, villages and sandy beaches. Or head in the other direction to the Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), perfect if you’re looking for opportunities to walk, cycle and spot some wildlife and dramatic scenery; the brave among you might even try to summit the nearby Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). The property is also situated on the Lon Las Menai cycle track which runs, mainly off-road, between Bangor and Caernarfon. For family days out, the Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre and Greenwood Family Park are recommended, whilst a pleasant drive away to the town of Caernarfon offers attractions such as the imposing World Heritage fortress of Caernarfon Castle and Caernarfon Station are a real hit with avid historians. Make the most of your time in North Wales with a memorable escape to Avalon.
