Tamarisk is a contemporary, single-storey cottage resting in Moelfre, Anglesey, boasting a stylish décor and a beautiful garden with views of both Lligwy Beach and the sea. Ideal for a family getaway, the cottage is conveniently located within easy reach of local amenities and the beach, making for a wonderful base from which to explore. Arriving at the cottage, park up in one of the off-road parking spaces and make you way into your home away from home. Two steps up lead you into the hallway where you can kick off your shoes before moving through to the well-equipped kitchen to rustle up a meal for your group. Take advantage of the self-catering facilities including an electric oven and hob, a wine cooler and a handy dishwasher. Gather in the conservatory to feast at the dining table while you discuss the next day's adventures; this space is also home to a plush armchair and a Smart TV, perfect if you want to escape the group. When it is time to relax, head to the sitting room, light the woodburning stove and sink into the L-shaped sofa to snuggle up with your loved ones. As the evening draws to a close, retire to the bedrooms for some well-earned rest; the cottage hosts a king-size and a triple bunk, ideal for the younger members of the group, along with a bathroom where you can freshen up and prepare for your day. Outside, make the most of the garden and cook your meals alfresco on the barbecue, before admiring the sea views from the egg-shaped swing seat. For things to do while at the cottage, take a trip to some ancient ruins nearby; Din Lligwy is the site of a Roman settlement, while The Lligwy Cromlech shows historical ruins of a burial chamber consisting of enormous stone slabs. For more history, a short drive will take you to Beaumaris Castle, famously known as 'the greatest castle never built' and Beaumaris Gaol, a former prison, now home to a museum offering a fascinating insight on the prison's history. Enjoy a peaceful stroll around Penrhyn Castle and gardens, a Neo-Norman piece of architecture with an impressive painting collection as well as an industrial railway museum, just a short drive from the cottage. Children and animal lovers can spend a day at Anglesey Sea Zoo, learning about a whole host of sea species while resting on the picture-perfect Anglesey coast. Closer to the property, why not treat your family to a meal out before returning to your abode? The nearby Kimmel Arms, is just a stroll away and offers a traditional pub grub menu to tuck into. With so much to see and do in the area, choose Tamarisk as your base for an exciting trip to North Wales.
