Quaint, idyllic and in the middle in a beautiful location within the heart of Herefordshire, Elephant Cottage is set within the grounds of the owner’s dairy farm which was once owned by a Birmingham circus family, who relocated from the city to retire with their animals. It was here that a baby elephant was housed in this old barn building until it moved away. Hence the name! Today, the beautiful old barn has a mix of both new and more rustic features; the old beams and trusses remain, with a section of original wattle and daub inside. Light and airy due to the high beam ceilings and multiple windows that look over the surrounding farm lands, Elephant Cottage has one bed room on the first floor which holds a superking size double room, along with a shower room and WC. The kitchen area is kitted out with all the mod-cons you could ever need, with the dining/living room hosting an open fire. Outside, there is a large, private garden area a mere 200 metres away from a small lake. Nearby there are opportunities to walk in all directions, with a pub and shop within three miles away from the property. Elephant Cottage is a great place for couples to come and relax for a long weekend or week-long holiday, where you can explore the countryside of Herefordshire.
