Owls Roost is a three bedroomed spacious and elegant holiday cottage with a very romantic and special Master Bedroom with a fine Four Poster Bed.

Owls Roost has a large dining table where everyone can eat together from all three cottages at Glanhenwye.

Originally the rather fine stone farm buildings were part of the farm to serve Maesllwch Castle. Glanhenwye lies between the picturesque 15th century castle and the River Wye at Glasbury. The cobbled courtyard retains many of its18th century features including beautiful stone arches, circular windows and the original stalls for the horses. Owls Roost Barn and its neighbouring cottages, The Hay Loft and Stable Lads Cottage form an L-shape around a picturesque cobbled courtyard.

Owls Roost Barn is arranged with two bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor.

Bedroom 1: Spacious room with a double bed and doors leading through to bedroom 2

Bedroom 2: A generous single bedroom (with pull-out bed underneath if required).

Both bedrooms link into a large family bathroom with bath and shower over, toilet and hand basin.

The bathroom has a door leading out to the lovely private gardens.

Upstairs:

Delightful large, open plan living space with kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

The kitchen has an electric oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

The dining and sitting areas include a table and chairs and comfortable sofas and chairs face a lovely old 'Wenlock' wood burner. This room features more fine dark ancient oak beams, is double aspect with views of the gardens and across the beautiful parkland of Maesllch Castle, and has yet another dramatic circular window. There is a TV, DVD and CD player.

Master Bedroom 3: This bedroom is simply breath taking with a large antique King-sized Four-poster bed at the centre of the room flanked by two circular windows. The furthest end of the room has an attractive curved wall which hides an en-suite with a shower and toilet behind glazed doors. A hand basin sits on a pedestal in the bedroom. This room really is a show stopper worthy of any phot-shot or film set.

There is ample parking and a large garden with lawns and a terrace.

There are some excellent local gastro-pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance, Foyles and The River Cafe on the River Wye at Glasbury on Wye just 5 minutes up the lane is always good fun and serves excellent food. Stable Lads Cottageis only a few minutes drive to Hay-on-Wye, The Llanthony Valley and Gospel Pass, Herefordshire countryside and of course Brecon and the stunning Beacons are just across the valley. The River Wye is just below the house and Trout and Salmon fishing is available on discussion with the Usk and Wye Foundation.

Ideal for large groups, great for entertaining with its three luxury cottages providing accommodation for up to 20 people, Glanhenwye would be a wonderful choice for a holiday with the extended family, a break with other families or a large group of friends.

Beautiful, mature gardens lie behind the cottages and a private terrace is provided for each. Children will love the vast lawns behind the cottages, and the small children's Climbing Wall (rubber mats provided).

Just 4 miles up the road, or 2 hours by canoe is Hay-on-Wye. The 'Town of Books' is fascinating, the shops there will not only provide for all your practical needs but also offer hours of browsing. There are boutique clothes shops, antique dealers; retailer's catering for crafts and interiors amongst many other things. There are some excellent pubs and restaurants and the most wonderful, old-fashioned sweetie shop. The little shops sit along quaint, narrow streets with the stunning and picturesque backdrop of Hay's 12th century, partially ruined castle.

Glanhenwye is also ideally located near The Begwyns, an upland moorland area. Largely unexplored, there are no set walks just a vast, wild and beautiful area to enjoy.
