Ty Mawr Cottage is one of three cottages built in the early 1980's, the houses blend in and look like original old stone cottages in this quaint town as they have been built using old stone and old timbers but at the same time having all the "mod cons" that a modern house enjoys.

The cottage has been a family home for many years and has a very pretty enclosed and private garden; and is still within a couple of minutes' walk to the centre of Hay and to some superb place to eat - make sure you try to book to eat at St John's Place - impossible to get a table unless you book in advance but check first it is to your taste. Booth's Book Shop, Cafe and Cinema is also somewhere not to be missed. Visit The Globe just across the road. Walk down to the River Wye - just a five minute stroll over the bridge - where you can spend a day just lazing beside the river with a picnic. Hire mountain bikes and explore some of the trails in The Black Mountains or just enjoy a drive through the glorious Welsh Border countryside. Something really worth remembering to put in your diary, Hay-on-Wye is a brilliant place for Christmas shopping with so many interesting little shops to browse and the weekly market as well.

Brecon - 17 miles, Hereford and the nearest railways station 20 miles, Abergavenny 25 miles.
