A superb, very generous , and spacious former self catering mill house to comfortably sleep 8 0r 9 guests in 4 bedrooms; the mill is tucked away in a magnificent setting beside The River Monnow near Craswall.

The Black Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to this peaceful farming area with its abundance of wildlife. Craswall is a long village set mid-way between Hay-on-Wye and Abergavenny in the romantic Herefordshire Border Country between England and Wales.

Sleeps 8 - 4 bedrooms

The large and contemporary kitchen is very comfortable with beautiful well fitted units with granite work surfaces and a "butchers block" central island. It is fully equipped with an electric rang cooker, microwave oven, integrated refrigerator and integrated dishwasher.

The dining area is furnished with country-style dining table and chairs with its own wood burning stove enabling cozy dinners on colder evenings.

The front door to Cwm Mill opens to a spacious hallway with a cloak room downstairs toilet.

A separate utility room is accessed from the kitchen and provides ample storage for coats and boots as well as a washing machine, tumble dryer and an additional fridge / freezer.

A spacious lounge has a stone fireplace with a large wood burning stove. A good supply of dry wood is left for visitors. This room is furnished with comfortable luxurious new sofas and a solid oak coffee table. A lovely cream carpet and a large colour co-ordinated rug in front of the fireplace contribute towards the cosy elegance of the room.

A door leads from the lounge to a study/games room with billiard/snooker table, sofa bed and selection of board games etc.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms:

Bedroom 1: A large master bedroom with a king size bed and feature windows overlooking the garden and river. It also offers an en-suite with shower, hand basin, and toilet.

There is also a walk in wardrobe room, bedside cabinets and chests of drawers to provide ample storage.

Bedroom 2: Another large room with dual 3ft single beds which can be formed into a superking bed on request.

The room has a fitted wardrobe and this complimented by a range of bedside cabinets and chest of drawers offering ample storage space.

Bedroom 3: A pretty if compact double bedroom with original exposed beams. (low ceiling). All new bedroom furniture has been provided.

Bedroom 4: A good sized double bedroom. (low ceiling). All new bedroom furniture has been provided.

Family bathroom with a Whirlpool bath, shower over the bath, hand basin and toilet.

Cwm Mill Farmhouse is set in private grounds on the River Monnow - with fishing licences from Wye & Usk Foundation. Please take care on the riverbanks and children need to be supervised at all times.

This very popular Farmhouse sits at the foot of The Black Mountains (made famous in Bruce Chatwin's "On The Black Hill" and close to the romantic Olchon Valley where the local writer Owen Sheers based his best selling book Resistance - again made into a film and showing this glorious and little known area.

Within a few minutes drive there is White Hayward Farm where visitors can enjoy an excellent meal in a converted stone barn - which is fulled licenced.

A visit to Hay-on-Wye is a must - a wonderful drive through - whether just exploring or attending The Literary Festival.
