Oaklea is a lovely very peaceful self catering four bedroomed family house with the most glorious views across the valley; the house is surrounded by a large well kept garden with lawns and flower beds and securely fenced for children. With the most stunning views visitors also can enjoy glorious sun sets and wonderful vast starry skies.... the house has a telescope to look across the valley.

The house is set in 30 acres of rolling farmland, in the romantic and beautiful Golden Valley. This is an area of outstanding beauty, over looking The Black Mountains, with Hatterill Ridge, The Cats Back and The Skirrid Mountain all close-by, with walks straight through a garden gate and across the fields, directly from the door. Offa's Dyke Path is within easy reach for keen walkers.

This well kept secluded house has recently been renovated retaining its original appearance having been owned by the same family since being built over 85 years ago.

Cottage accommodation

Sleeps 8, 4 bedrooms.

The kitchen has an electric cooker, four ring hob with oven and grill, microwave, George Foreman grill, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine. The deep freezer and second fridge are in a separate outside store.

A traditional 1930's dining room with dining table and chairs with an open period fireplace with armchairs on either side.

The sitting room has a large bay window to take advantage of the stunning views over the valley, with sofa and chairs, a woodburning stove set in the traditional fireplace and a TV, DVD and 1930's radio.

A small second "snug" with sofa, a desk, TV for playing games and DVDs, radio and CD player, books, jigsaws and games.

Downstairs cloakroom with handbasin and toilet and storage for coats and boots.

Upstairs to

Bedroom 1: has a traditional wooden double bed with a large bay window and fabulous views across the valley.

Bedroom 2: has a wrought iron double bed, again lovely views across the valley.

Bedroom 3: has bunk beds.

Bedroom 4: has twin beds, both have views of the garden.

A family bathroom: With a bath with shower over and a handbasin.

Separate toilet and handbasin.

Longtown - 1.5 miles, with an excellent local pub and the award winning local village shop and Post Office, well stocked with local and organic produce, news papers etc.

The Cornwall Arms is a local pub - half a mile.The Crown Inn in Longtown and Carpenters Arms in Walterstone are 1.5 miles away serve excellent food.Several Galleries and Craft Centres nearby - Pony Trekking and Riding and various outdoor pursuits available locally. An easy drive to Llantony Abbey, Capel-y-Ffin, Abbey Dore and Hay-on-Wye.

Abergavenny 8 miles, Hereford 17 miles and Hay-on-Wye 15 miles. Brecon 24 miles.
