This charming property is ideally situated for touring the Highlands and the West Coast, offering many places of historic and scenic interest, making this a fantastic base to enjoy the abundance of nature and wildlife in the area. There are plenty of opportunities for spectacular walks, and there are numerous other activities you can enjoy, including climbing, hill walking, sailing, water sports, golf, cycling and winter sports at the nearby Nevis Range. You can take a cruise on Loch Ness or visit the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre and Urquhart Castle which are within easy reach. Close by at Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus you will find a selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. The vibrant city of Inverness is around an hour away. On entering this delightful converted barn, head up to the first floor, where you will find the beautiful and welcoming open plan lounge/diner. This is a relaxing and tastefully furnished space with original exposed beams, a charming dining area and a selection of books, games and DVDs. Please note that the property has a TV and DVD which only allows you to watch DVDs. Exploring the first floor further, you will find a zip and link bedroom, which can be made into a twin on request, which has an en suite shower room with two showers and WC. Heading back down to the ground floor, you will find a family bedroom with a double bed and bunk beds. Moving into the attractive and elegantly designed kitchen/diner, you will find another ideally situated dining area, and the stylish kitchen is fully equipped with gas range, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a separate WC on the ground floor. You will also find a wet room with two showers, and a useful boot room, ideal for storing outdoor clothing and equipment. Stepping outside, you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views from the well maintained 50 acre estate on the banks of Loch Ness. There are paths along the Loch, with others leading through the wooded estate to a pond with an island and a charming Summer house where you can read and relax, or watch the birds and wildlife. There are very few opportunities to actually walk along the shores of Loch Ness, but Old Farm has about a mile of shoreline you can explore. Fishing in both the pond and Loch Ness can also be arranged. There is a rowing boat available for use on the pond only; life jackets are provided.
