Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
Town: The charming village of Kilchoan, which is located on the spectacular Ardnamurchan Peninsula and is encircled by magnificent mountains and breathtaking coastline views, is the most westerly village on British mainland. The region around Kilchoan has a variety of serene sandy beaches, a wealth of animals, and eagles are frequently sighted flying overhead. Prior to 1900, the only way to reach the settlement was by water; today, access is made possible by a single-track road that passes through some of Scotland's most breathtaking landscapes. The village features excellent neighbourhood amenities, such as a store, bar, restaurant, and community hall. The islands of Mull and Iona can be explored when travelling by ferry from Mingary Pier to Tobermory across the Sound of Mull.
Located in Acharacle, this lodge is in a rural area and by the sea. Mull Theatre and Mull Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Ardtun Peninsula Leaf Beds and Mull Electric Bikes. Tobermory Marine Exhibition and Lip na Cloiche Garden and Nursery are also worth visiting. Explore all the area has to offer with cycling and hiking/biking trails.
