Half House is a perfect setting for those who love to be outdoors and close to nature. This stunning, detached very rural property enjoys a peaceful and private setting just a 2½ miles outside the forest village of Nethy Bridge, and makes the perfect base for exploring this lovely part of the northern Highlands. The house is accessed via a driveway across a working farmer’s field, and the peaceful nature of the location is breathtaking. With the dramatic backdrop of the often snowcapped Cairngorm mountains and sitting on the edge of the ancient Scottish Caledonian Forest. Half House overlooks moorland and mountains with abundant wildlife which includes red squirrels, mountain hares, red and roe deer, and many species of song birds can often be seen. The small village of Nethy Bridge has a shop, post office, a butchers and two hotels where you can enjoy some good food and drink.
Part of the Speyside Way runs through the village, and there are numerous forest and riverside walks and mountain bike trails. The RSPB Nature Reserve of Loch Garten is just a few miles from the cottage. The village is also within easy driving distance of some of the most popular attractions and activities that the Cairngorms National Park has to offer. Just 12 miles from Aviemore which is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and at the head of the Speyside Way. The whole area boasts a super range of shops, restaurants and bars along with a very wide range of outdoor activities including skiing and snowboarding, mountain and quad biking, climbing and hill walking and a variety of water sports on Loch Insh, Loch Morlich and the River Spey to name just a few. Take a trip on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway and to the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie, the Landmark Forest Adventure Park or the RSPB Reserve at nearby Loch Garten, all within easy reach. A day trip to the Landmark Forest Adventure Park in nearby Carrbridge is a must as it’s a fun filled day for all ages. Further afield, take a trip to the beautiful west coast and the Isle of Skye, enjoy a day trip to the Orkney Islands, or visit the Moray coastline peppered with little fishing villages and beautiful beaches. Landmark Forest Adventure Park and Speyside Wildlife are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as fishing and other activities like golfing.
