Roybridge 1 mile. An impressive log-built, eco-friendly detached house, surrounded by mountains but only 12 miles from the sea, has stunning views across to the Grey Corries and the fabulous Nevis Mountain Range, situated in the hamlet of Inverroy, one mile from the village of Roy Bridge in the Scottish Highlands. This contemporary, yet very homely, Scandinavian style house is ideal for a family group or group of friends who want space to spread out and relax. With the accommodation over two floors the ground floor has a high-ceilinged living space with an extremely well-equipped fitted kitchen, a generous dining area and an inviting seating area with plush leather chairs around a woodburning stove and windows that provide the views you always wanted. From the central living area there is access to a double and twin bedroom and smart family bathroom. Open-tread stairs lead up to a spacious mezzanine sitting room with lovely leather chairs and again, from this upper floor space, the magnificent views can be fully appreciated. Many guests are happy to just sit and watch the ever-changing incredible Highland light and clouds. Just off this sitting room is the master double bedroom with en-suite shower room. A large lawned garden lies to the front of the house, this being an ideal space for outdoor games and alfresco dining during the summer months. A note to dog owners, the garden is not gated. The internationally famous West Coast rail line runs just to the south of the property, with approx. 10 trains a day and the opportunity to see a steam train on occasion. If you can force yourself to leave this beautiful home, then there is much to do and see in the area. Roybridge is a welcoming highland village, where you’ll find a café and two hotels which house a pub and restaurant so good ales, and good food are assured. Fort William, styled as the Outdoor Capital of the UK is just a short drive away with its museum, cinema and boat trips. From here you can make the strenuous day walk up Ben Nevis or have a more relaxed approach and just do some shopping! Glen Spean Brewery and many other local producers nearby. Canoeing, Sea Kayaking, SUP, easy mountain biking or the World Championship Downhill track (not for the faint hearted!) and many other activities too numerous to mention are available in the area. Closer to home Roy Bridge and Spean Bridge offer great walking and biking opportunities with lovely tracks leading into spacious and peaceful areas where wildlife abounds and tranquillity rules. Venture North where you can visit the popular destinations of the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, and the stunning Aviemore. Continuing west, ‘The Road to the Isles’, well-known for its gorgeous beaches and clear waters, leads to Mallaig through Glenfinnan. Be sure to check out the railway viaduct famed for its appearance in the Harry Potter movies, which can easily be seen passing by from the road. However, you will be keen to return to this perfect holiday home and enjoy making memories. For those who have never been to the Scottish Highlands or those returning to this magical place, you will be hard pressed to find a better place to stay! A self-catering cabin located in the grounds, used occasionally, is booked separately Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150 and operates a Paws on Floors policy for dogs.
