Lochalsh Lodge is a splendid recently built house in a superb setting within the National Trust conservation area of Lochalsh Woodland Walks.
The house enjoys panoramic views over Lochalsh to the Isle of Skye, Kylerhea and the distant mountains of Knoydart. A path leads down to the sea which is less than 50 metres away.
The property comprises of a large open plan sitting room/dining room/kitchen and a separate utility room. The sitting area has comfortable seating, there is a large dining table with ten dining chairs. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room and a dressing room, the three further double bedrooms also have en-suite facilities. There is a study with a sofa bed and a desk.
The house is of a high specification including granite worktops, hand painted kitchen units and an island unit with a solid oak worktop. The sitting room features a Jotul wood burning stove. All the stylish en-suites benefit from underfloor heating and large shower enclosures.
Lochalsh Lodge is an ideal base for exploring the Skye and Lochalsh area. With the Skye bridge only three miles away the many attractions of Skye are on the doorstep whether for the more adventurous the Cuillin Mountains or to visit the renowned Talisker Whisky Distillery. The picturesque village of Plockton is fifteen minutes drive and offers several good restaurants and boat trips for seal watching. The world famous Eilean Donan Castle (filmed as a James Bond HQ) is only minutes away. The area benefits from extensive outdoor activities including walking, hill climbing, golf, canoeing and water sports (private mooring available).
There is an abundance of wild life in the vicinity with many birds including the sea eagle (one of Britain’s largest birds). Otters, seals and pine martens can be seen from the house.
There are excellent travel links to the area. Kyle of Lochalsh which is five minutes away has regular bus and train services and many facilities including a large supermarket, local shops, leisure centre, etc. For someone looking for a luxury Highland holiday in a stunning setting Lochalsh Lodge is the place for you.
Located in Kyle, this vacation home is in a rural area and on the waterfront. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Loch Carron and Glen Shiel, while Giant MacAskill Musuem and Museum of the Isles are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids?
