A short drive away, you will find the seaside resort of Ventnor, home to the Botanical gardens who grow around 6000 species of rare and exotic plants and trees in 22 acres. Steephill Cove, which lies just southwest of the Victorian seaside town of Ventnor. Steephill is a traditional, unspoilt fishing cove with a sand and shingle beach, nestled between rocky cliffs and smugglers’ coves.
The bay has no road access, which makes it a unique hidden gem. Find your way down the pathways and you can dine on the freshest crab and lobster, or simply sit back and relax on a deckchair on the beach. The Isle of Wight has lots to offer for all ages including The Needles with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. You can pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence Osborne House, Blackgang Chine, the UK’s oldest amusement park, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes.
