Yafford Mill Barn is nestled within the beautiful countryside of the South West of the Island. The nearby village of Shorwell has a Public House and Village Shop and the larger village of Brighstone (a 3 minute drive) is a picturesque spot with thatched cottages, a Public House, General Stores, Post Office and a small museum. Much of this beautiful coastal region is protected by the National Trust and is a wonderful walking area with both downland and woodland trails as well as coastal paths with dramatic views. The quiet and unspoilt beaches of Brighstone and Brook are within a 5 minute drive.
Awarded a Gold 5* rating by the Tourist Board, Yafford Mill Barn has been designed to provide light and spacious accommodation to the highest standards for 6 people (+baby) with three bedrooms and three well equipped bath/shower rooms. The accommodation is all on one level and is equipped to a very high standard with oak and slate floors, under floor heating, Travertine tiled bathrooms and Egyptian cotton bed linen and bath towels. WIFI is available throughout the property

A large open plan relaxing/dining space with vaulted ceilings, wood panelling, a wood burning stove, leather sofas, 42" TV with SKY HD, 6 place dining table and two sets of French doors opening onto the patio and garden. A wooden highchair is available for young children.
Kitchen
A fully equipped modern kitchen with black granite worktops and breakfast bar, ceramic hob, built in NEFF oven and microwave, fridge, freezer, NEFF washer/dryer and Nespresso coffee machine. Plastic crockery is available for children

A spacious room with a King size bed and en-suite shower room, basin and WC.

A twin bedroom with easy access to the family bathroom with bath and shower
Bedroom 3
A private room with double bed and French doors opening onto the garden. Adjacent wet room and WC
All bedding is hypoallergenic and all mattresses are pocket sprung. A Baby Bjorn travel cot and sheet are available for a baby and a blow up mattress can be provided for an older child. All three bedrooms have wardrobes and drawers.
Garden
The garden is laid to lawn with a large patio for dining. Hardwood garden furniture, with views of Limerstone Downs, seats 6 and a Weber gas fired barbeque is available for use. The rear garden is fully enclosed and secure with a stream flowing just beyond the fence along one side.
Additional information
- Access is via an 800m unmade farm track which can be bumpy after wet weather. 4x4 not necessary. Three cars can be parked in the drive immediately to the rear of the barn.
- Heating and electricity is without extra charge.
- Yafford Mill Barn operates a no smoking policy.
- There is excellent mobile coverage on O2, EE and 3 networks but Vodaphone can be patchy.
We operate a 5 night minimum stay policy during low season but shorter stays may be possible depending on the situation so please do ask.
Located in Newport, this vacation home is in a rural area and by the sea. Isle of Wight Steam Railway and Calbourne Water Mill are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Newport-Cowes Trail and Yarmouth Isle-of-Wight Ferry Terminal.
