NEW Georgian Splendour, Hythe, Hythe

Kent. Sleeps up to 10

Oak Hall, built in 1749, is a unique Georgian detached house set in the centre of the cinque port of Hythe. In an incredibly quiet location, the house is just behind the high street, so it's within easy walking distance of pubs, shops and restaurants.

The owners have retained all the original beautiful features and carefully matched them with antique furnishings and objet d'arts. This is very much a home rather than a classic rental property.

A perfect base for those who want to explore the historic towns of Hythe, Sandgate and surrounding areas. The sea is a few minutes’ walk away, across the Royal Military Canal built in case of a Napoleonic invasion. Folkestone with its bustling creative quarter and harbour arm is within walking distance or easy cycle ride.

Oak Hall is marketed as a 4 bedroom house sleeping 10 guests in 3 doubles, one twin with 2 trundle beds and 2 bathrooms.

From a large door at street level you enter a mature, well stocked, private, south facing garden. On entering the house it is immediately apparent the care that has been taken to retain the Georgian style but sympathetically including all the needs for modern living.

On the ground floor there is a well-equipped kitchen with 6 ring range cooker, sliding doors to a classic panelled dining room, door opening onto a secluded rear courtyard garden and stairs to a large cellar.

First floor enjoys a good-sized sitting room with open fireplace and gas log fire, Virgin TV and good WiFi. There is a richly coloured master double bedroom, facing south over the town with distant sea views, and a shower room on this floor.

A panelled staircase leads to a lantern lit landing on the second floor which has a further two double bedrooms and a twin room with sea views and a bathroom. The twin room also has two pull out single beds, enabling the property to sleep 10 guests.

There is private parking for up to 3 cars on the street at the front of the house.

Located in Hythe, this vacation home is by the sea. The Dolls House and Elham Valley Railway Museum are cultural highlights, and travelers looking to shop may want to visit Capel le Ferne Farmers Market and Ashford Designer Outlet. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Folkestone Racecourse or BuildKent Stadium. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as swimming and other activities like birdwatching.
