Aptly named The Retreat by the owners, this spacious family friendly 4 bed detached holiday home with garden provides a tranquil place to relax and unwind. Located in the prestigious tree lined Palm Bay Avenues (a suburb of Margate), there is so much to see and do on your doorstep and beyond.
There is a highchair and cot available.

We do not accommodate parties (including stag and hen parties).

The Retreat is an excellent base for exploring everything Thanet has to offer. There are several family friendly sandy beaches and bays close by; Palm Bay and Botany Bay are the nearest and preferred by the locals over the Main Sands. Walpole Bay has the UK’s largest tidal pool, so definitely worth a visit. If you enjoy walking or cycling, then join the Viking Coastal Trail which stretches 32 miles around the Thanet coastline. Also, within walking distance are Tennis courts, Jet Ski World and Café and the award winning Cliftonville Farmers Market with 30+ stalls selling Kent produce (last Sunday of the month 10am-1pm). Northdown Road offers an array shops, cafes, restaurants. If you are a foodie, then a visit to The International Food Market is a must.

The popular seaside town of Margate with its main sands, arcades, Old Town, Dreamland and the Turner Contemporary is approx. 2 miles away, 5 minutes by car and 30 minutes by foot along the promenade.

Historic Broadstairs famous for its connections with Charles Dickens, Folk Week and the beautiful Viking Bay is approx. 3 miles away, 8 minutes by car and 45 minutes by foot.

Ramsgate and its Royal Harbour surrounded by eateries and bars and golden sands is approx. 6 miles away and 15 minutes by car and 1.5 hr by foot.

Buses (Thanet Loop) run regularly and there are several local taxi companies operating in Thanet. Margate Train Station is the nearest station to The Retreat and is just over 2 miles away.

At the rear of the house you will be delighted by the light and airy lounge with direct access to the garden, throw open the patio doors on a sunny day and enjoy the warm breeze. The lounge also provides ample sofas for relaxing, a 50” smart TV with streaming channels (guest to use their own log in). There is also surround sound system and an Xbox for watching DVD’s only.

The modern kitchen has everything you will need to cook up a storm, it also has a dishwasher, microwave and large Smeg fridge. There is also an informal dining area, great for sitting and enjoying a morning brew! A separate utility room has a washing machine and the freezer.

The formal stylish dining room is located at the front of the house and provides dining for 8 guests.
There is also an office with desk and monitor, so if you plan on working whilst away you will find this a suitable space.
Finally, there is also a cloakroom with W.C. and basin downstairs.

Upstairs you will find 4 double bedrooms, 2 with king beds and 2 with doubles all have storage / hanging space. The master bedroom also has an ensuite with shower, W.C. and basin.

The master bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, W.C. and basin.

The large established rear garden provides the perfect retreat on a sunny day. The top of the garden offers seating and somewhere to Alfresco dine whilst the rest of the garden is laid to lawn, so children will be able to play. There is also a rotary washing line.

The front of the property provides ample parking for up to 4 cars.

Located in Margate, this vacation home is on the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Pegwell Bay Country Park and Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve, while Winter Gardens and Margate Museum are cultural highlights.
