Birkwood cottage shares 3 1/2 acres of wooded and landscaped grounds with the owners of Birkwood house. Birkwood house was built in 1905 and the cottage was built slightly later as the gardeners cottage. It is an ideal base to soak up the country atmosphere to travel further afield.
This wonderful well-presented spacious detached cottage is nestled in a peaceful, tranquil setting on the edge of the village of symington, south Lanarkshire close to the M74 which is one of the main arteries linking Glasgow to England.
The cottage is located in a beautiful rural area, on the outskirts of the village of Symington, 2 1/2 miles from the market town of Biggar and 10 miles from the historic village of New Lanark. Within easy reach of both Edinburgh and Glasgow and their airports and their surrounding attractions and also easy road access for heading further afield. The countryside is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with numerous country tracks and coastal trails to explore, ideal for cyclists, walkers, mountain bikers and hikers.
The accommodation can sleep 6 comfortably and comprises of the following; upstairs, bedroom 1 has a king sized sleigh bed and bedroom 2 is a twin bedded room. There is a shower room and WC between the bedrooms. downstairs is bedroom 3 with another king size sleigh bed and a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. In the large lounge area downstairs is a seated area with a multifuel stove and a dining table with views out of the patio doors to the garden and neighbouring lake beyond. There is a smart flat screen TV fitted to the wall. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
Outside: large gardens, amenities ample off road parking.
Luxury Christy bed linen throughout, towels, oil central heating, WiFi are all included.
Regretfully no smoking.
1 well behaved dog is very welcome.
A well stocked log store and coal ovals are also included.
