Lake District. Sleeps up to 5

Recently renovated, this luxurious cottage sleeps up to five, has its own private hot tub and covered outdoor dining area and has been thoughtfully styled to accommodate your every imaginable need whilst holidaying in this hidden gem of a countryside village.

Welcome to your holiday home from home.

Relax and unwind
A welcome retreat after a busy day exploring the fields, fells, coastline and wells (Silverdale has six or seven dotted around its woodlands and dells), hunker down in the cosy lounge, where herringbone flooring extends underfoot and a corner sofa, plump with cushions, beckons. Winter or summer, switch on the electric Aga stove and enjoy the pretty ambience of its flickering colours with the heat on or off for that traditional country cottage feel. Watch a movie on the television or enjoy a family game of dominoes.

Feast your eyes
In the kitchen-diner, we have endeavoured to think of everything – so that you don’t have to. Newly fitted, stylish charcoal units adorned with gold handles open to reveal all the plates, bowls, mugs, teapots, eggcups and essentials you might need during your stay. Baking trays, roasting trays, casserole dishes, mixing bowls, pizza trays, measuring jugs and more are all on hand to cater to your culinary cravings.

Our quality appliances include a Neff electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and water-dispensing fridge.

Our stylish solid wood table and bench seating for five is practical and sociable, and is set before the glazed French doors overlooking the garden. Perfect fit blinds to the windows can be lowered from the top or raised from the bottom for your privacy and comfort. Holidaying with toddlers? We also have high chairs, travel cots, children’s crockery and cutlery and stair gates for comfort and peace of mind.

Refresh and revive
Pluck a freshly laundered Mitre towel from the pile and enjoy a refreshing spritz beneath the rainfall showerhead in the walk-in, fully tiled cubicle. There is also a wash basin and WC. We have provided you with a selection of luxurious, locally sourced Bath House toiletries for your stay. Our handy essentials pack includes cotton pads and a sewing kit in case you encounter any sartorial hiccups during your holiday.

Sweet slumber
Retreat to comfort at the end of a fun-filled day, in our three sumptuously styled bedrooms at Bank House Lane.

Overlooking the rear garden and hot tub is our double bedroom, elegantly styled in hues of blue and gold with cosy cream carpet underfoot. Plenty of storage can be found in the wardrobes and drawers, with bedside lighting inset within the stylish bespoke head board for your bedtime reading.

Nestled to the front, discover the spacious master bedroom. Ziplock beds provide the option of a super-king or twin beds, for flexibility. Privacy blinds to the windows allow light to flow through and provide screening and shade. A television is mounted across from the bed, with a built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers to store your clothes.

Also nestled to the front is the giraffe bedroom, a single bedroom with pull out bed and built-in storage. Cute, cosy and furnished with a handcrafted, locally sourced Feather & Springs of Kendal mattress and enveloping 300 count cotton sateen bedding (as are all the bedrooms at No. 2), sink into relaxation after another fabulous day of fun in Silverdale.

Sunshine, shelter and shade
Wake up to another relaxing day in ‘the sunniest spot on Morecambe Bay’ and enjoy morning coffee and croissants in a comfortable armchair on the sunny terrace, accessed through the French doors from the kitchen. Follow the sun up the garden and end your day with a barbecue beneath the covered decking, screened by a backdrop of mature trees - an homage to the Barcelona pavilion – followed by a starlit dip in the hot tub with a glass of fizz. All the pool towels and picnic essentials you need can be found in the wicker basket in the kitchen. Sheltered beneath the timber roof, festooned in outdoor lighting, enjoy the perks of a luxury holiday whatever the weather’s whims. Enjoy garden games with the family on the front lawn, which you will also find in the wicker basket.

Out and about in Silverdale
Step outside and in moments find yourself in the thriving heart of Silverdale, a friendly village popular with walkers and cyclists.

Pick up all your essentials at the well-stocked Co-op and family run butchers. There is also a popular Indian restaurant offering takeaway, in addition to a Post Office, chemist, hairdressers and tea shops. Of course, you needn’t cook at all; the nearby Royal and Silverdale Hotel both serve up a range of meals and make up two of the three pubs in the village.

Explore the multitude of woodland walks that crisscross this delightful village, including the fairy grotto delights of Woodwell on route to Jenny Brown’s Point and the stone Giant’s Chair at Jack Scout. Call in at Wolf & Us on your travels and sample coffee courtesy of local coffee roasters Atkinson’s of Lancaster, and a slice of carrot cake. The Beach House serves up locally sourced seafood and wood-fired pizzas. Be sure to admire local artist Janice McGloine’s inimitable local scenes in the main Wolf House gallery.

Moving further down the village, Silverdale has its own golf course with club house, whilst RSPB Leighton Moss is a must for nature lovers.

Explore further afield if you can bear to leave ‘the Dale’; the local station runs to such sea side spots as Arnside and Grange-over-Sands (roughly 5-10 minutes train ride away) and into Carnforth for larger supermarkets and other shops.

Located in Carnforth, this cottage is near the beach. Leighton Hall and Levens Hall and Gardens are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Lancaster Brewery and Forrest Hills. Traveling with kids? Consider Cinderbarrow Miniature Railway and Lakeland Wildlife Oasis Park. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
