Barn In Cumbria, Casterton

Yorkshire Dales. Sleeps up to 6

The quaint village of Casterton is a wonderful destination for walkers. Follow the 4 mile loop which meanders its way around disused sheepfolds and discover 16 of Andy Goldsworthy s natural sculptures along the way. Just 3 miles from your door, climb Barbon Fell for gorgeous views or head 4.5 miles to Eskholme Pike. Enjoy a day out in Kirkby Lonsdale (3.5 miles) or visit in the evening for a night off from the kitchen. If you fancy venturing into the Lake District, lake Windermere is a 24 mile journey and is well worth a day out. Head inside the glass topped entrance hall at this converted barn, climb three steps and push the curtain aside to find yourself in the open plan living space. Exposed beams, a grand piano, and large windows add character and charm. Sink into one of three sofas and enjoy the heat from the wood burner as you sit in front of the Smart TV to unwind. The spacious kitchen area is a real delight, equipped with two full size ovens, ceramic hobs, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. A breakfast bar provides a more informal area to enjoy your food. The dining table in the centre of the living space beneath the striking vaulted ceiling offers opportunity to all gather round. Down a few steps, the garden room is a great spot in which to relax after dinner. Boasting views through the French doors, this is a brilliantly light space. When it s time to head to bed, there's a choice of three ensuite bedrooms. The first king size bedroom is light and airy with a TV and an en suite bathroom with handheld shower attachment and WC. The second king size also has an en suite with a shower and is a tranquil room in which to drift off. The third, twin bedroom is situated beyond the main living area and benefits from picture perfect views filled with natural light and also boasts an en suite shower room with WC. A useful utility and boot room has lots of storage and a washing machine, tumble dryer and WC. Outside, the games room sits in the barn s under croft and is ideal for competitive guests with its table tennis table. It also has lots of room for storing bikes. The gardens surround the barn and are great for soaking up the sun and enjoying al fresco meals and drinks around the fire pit. There is off road parking for four cars.
