See Lecht Mine and Corgarff Castle, or spend the day in Aviemore and discover Aviemore Ring Cairn and Stone Circle, Strathspey Steam Railway and the Highland Wildlife and Birdwatch Safaris, providing fun for the whole family. Wander the grand estate of Rothiemurchus, home to a 13th-century island fortress and many exciting activities for all to enjoy. Avid walkers should be sure to challenge themselves to a hike to the peak of Ben Macdui, whilst historians will relish in a trip to the 18th century ruins of Ruthven Barracks, the Duke of Gordon's Monument and the 13th-century fortress of Balvenie Castle.
