Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
Town: On Scotland's north-eastern coast, on either side of the Burn of Buckie, is the harbour town of Buckie, which looks out onto the lovely Moray Firth. It is an excellent beach base from which to explore this magnificent region of Scotland because it boasts a variety of stores and pubs. Regular boat journeys that give the chance to see bottlenose dolphins and a variety of sea birds depart from the harbours at Buckie and further up the coast from Macduff. The Scottish Dolphin Centre is based in Spey Bay, which is also a great area to see dolphins and seals, which is to the west of the town. The coastline, which stretches in both ways from Buckie, is dotted with charming fishing towns and stunning beaches that are ideal for strolling with your fish and chips. Bring a picnic, travel to the storied Loch Ness, and wander along its breathtaking shoreline. You may also visit the nearby historic city of Elgin. From this charming tiny beach town, there is plenty to see and do.
Located in Buckie, this vacation home is on the beach. Portsoy Pottery and Elgin Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Speyside Way and Moray Golf Club. Portsoy Ice Cream and Relax are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with fishing nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with hiking/biking trails and cycling.
