There are more castles than you can shake a stick at including Cawdor Castle, Inshoch Castle, Kilravock Castle and Brodie Castle, all within short but extremely scenic drives. Nairn is not far at all and boasts some of the best beaches anywhere and Inverness is great for a day out with a good selection of shops, boutiques, galleries, cafes and restaurants and is a good starting point for exploring the infamous Loch Ness and the delights of the Scottish Highlands.
