Guests can stay in the recently restored 6 bedroom Grade II listed Barn, relax and enjoy great views from the windows of the minstrel gallery, have fun in the hot tub and swim spa, use the barbeque and enjoy outdoor games in the extensive grounds.

Using the Barn as a base, guests can go on to explore Norfolk’s beautiful countryside and coastline and all that they offer. Medieval Swafield Barn is ideally located near the North Norfolk coast, close to the coastal resort of Mundesley (3 miles) with its wonderful sandy beaches, historic market town of North Walsham (2 miles), Cromer (8 miles) and the Broads (8 miles), Sheringham with its picturesque train station and variety of shops (13 miles). National Trust properties, Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall, are both just in 10 miles from Medieval Swafield Barn and both boast fabulous properties to look around and outstanding grounds. A little further afield you will find Sheringham Park, another National Trust property that is well worth visiting.

The Barn had, for years, been a rundown outbuilding until the current owner had the vision and passion to restore it create the beautiful space it is now. You will love the exposed brickwork and lofty beams and other original architectural features that have been left in situ to add to the historic and romantic feel of the Barn. Although the restoration was careful to leave signs of the past, it has a design-led blend of modern features such as the hot tub and swim spa, along with concealed lighting and underfloor heating for your comfort.

Dogs are always welcome at the Barn for no extra charge and at the beaches and the National Trust grounds previously mentioned, you will find some great walks . The Butterfly reserve, Paston Way and Dilham to North Walsham canal (Norfolk’s only artificial, locked sailing canal) are 5 minutes’ walk from the Barn and ideal for leisurely walks or bicycle rides. The Canal Trust now offer boat trips throughout the year and funds from this are used to support the restoration of the canal.

The nearest villages are Swafield (1 mile) with the award winning local butcher Tavern Tasty Meats, Trunch (1.7 miles) with an excellent pub 'The Crown Inn' and famous classical concerts in Trunch Church during the summer season, and the Market Town of North Walsham (2 miles) containing several restaurants and the local Waitrose. We can highly recommend the quality of the food at the Chinese restaurant in North Walsham, charmingly called the Chubby Panda along with The Ship Inn at Mundesley which over looks the beach and is always good for a visit.

The Barn has ample parking for about 7 cars.
