Courtyard garden with patio and garden furniture. ¼-acre grounds (shared with other properties on-site). Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Local walks and nature trails are close by ensuring the perfect location for summer holidays or winter escapes. The properties are nestled in the countryside, close to neighbouring villages with shops and pubs serving good food. The surrounding Broadland villages include Freethorpe, Lingwood, Strumpshaw, Reedham, Acle, Blofield and Brundall. Come and explore the best of Norfolk, with the famous Norfolk Broads and its amazing coastline, just 15 minutes’ drive away.
There are plenty of RSPB sites for great birdwatching nearby, including Strumpshaw Fen, Hickling Broad and Ted Ellis Nature Reserve at Surlingham. A golf course can be found at Blofield and Sprowston. Visit the city of Norwich with theatres, castle museum, cathedral, art galleries, market square, indoor shopping malls, restaurants and cafés. Acle and Brundall offer daily boat hire, a miniature model village and a train station for further exploration.
The barns are within an easy drive of Norfolk’s finest sandy beaches. Wroxham, 11 miles, known as the ’Capital of the Norfolk Broads’, has waterside restaurants, cafés and a variety of shops, daily boat hire and river trips. Hickling Broad is 15 miles away with a nature reserve that links to the Norfolk Broad’s unique topography of reed-lined waterways, famous for their coarse fishing, boating and variety of wildlife, especially waterfowl. Wonderful sandy beaches can be found at Gorleston-on-Sea and Winterton-on-Sea, 13 miles, Sea Palling and Waxham, 18 miles.
National Trust stately homes, parks and gardens are all within the surrounding area including Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Oxburgh Hall, Sheringham Gardens and Houghton Hall. Traditional seaside resorts include Great Yarmouth, 11 miles, for amusements, pier and fun fair; Cromer, 34 miles, with a pier and promenade, lighthouse and a clifftop golf course, and Sheringham, 37 miles, with the RNLI working lifeboat museum and headquarters of the North Norfolk Steam Railway.
The Georgian market town of Holt is 35 miles away with Blakeney Quay just 40 miles. The Royal Sandringham Estate and Gardens is 56 miles. Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, 10 miles, Pettitts Animal Adventure Park at Reedham, 4 miles, Dinosaur Adventure Park at Lenwade, 24 miles, and Pensthorpe Natural Park, 37 miles, all offer great days out and family fun. Why not visit the National Trust’s Horsey Gap, 16 miles, where you can walk on the sand dunes and see the seals and pups on the beach from November to February?
