Those wishing to explore on foot will make good use of the grounds, which are great for walks and watching wildlife.
There are numerous stately homes and National Trust sites within easy reach, including The Sandringham Estate, Peckover House and Gardens, Holkham Hall and The Blickling Estate. It is also worth making time for a visit to the medieval city of Norwich, with its splendid Norman castle, numerous museums and lots of opportunities to shop and eat. The Hanseatic Quarter of Old King’s Lynn offers lots of attractions, including ghost walks. Beach lovers can be at the gateway to the breathtaking Norfolk coast in less than half an hour. Take a drive east and discover a string of pretty coastal villages, marshes and beaches. Here, you will also find artisan shops and lots of places to eat, many of them selling fresh, local produce.
