While the National Park to the north offers distinctive, beautiful moorland scenery and a range of walks and cycle paths, the calm rural roads are perfect for cyclists looking to explore the area's hidden communities. Ampleforth is in the ideal location for a varied yet restful vacation thanks to adjacent Pickering and its steam trains to the north, Castle Howard less than 15 miles away, and Scarborough and the East Coast about 35 miles away.
