Perfectly placed to explore the coast and countryside, this three story property is ideal for large family breaks or retreats with friends. Boasting an open plan kitchen and dining area, an extremely spacious living room, six bedrooms, and exquisite outdoor space, you’ll have full access to the property during your stay.

The Space:
The Lakehouse has everything you could need and more for a coast and country getaway. The whole property has been expertly designed and styled with premium interiors.

The large living area is spacious and welcoming. With seating for all guests this area is perfect for socialising with your loved ones. A solid wood dining table sits directly behind the L-shape sofa your guests can unwind and dine in this relaxed space.

The kitchen is a social hub and features modern appliances and a wide selection of cookware and dinnerware. There is a second dining table in this kitchen-dining space. This is the perfect spot for dining and entertaining or sharing those special celebratory meals.

Three sets of double doors surround this area, open them wide and enjoy the beautiful outdoor terrace.

The property features six bedrooms, each styled with unique and premium furnishings.

The master bedroom features a truly stunning feature wall with wild flower detail. The super king bed is finished with bold orange fabric headboard and crisp white linens. This room benefits from an ensuite shower room.

Step out onto the large, covered balcony and enjoy the peaceful surroundings with your morning coffee.
The second bedroom on the first floor is a double bedroom with ensuite.

The remaining bedrooms are on the second floor and there are three superking rooms and one double. One of the superking room features another ensuite shower room.

Please note that one of the superking rooms on the second-floor benefits from a double sofa bed which can be made up if requested prior to your stay. This will increase the occupancy to 14.

Modern and spacious, the family bathroom is located on the first floor and features bathtub with overhead shower, a WC and a wash basin.

A large, bright space on the first floor is home to a second living area. With large occasional chairs, two plush sofas and doors which open out onto a small balcony, this room can be used to escape, with a good book or in the late afternoon with your favourite aperitif.

The outdoor space of The Lakehouse is just as wonderful as the inside. With mature gardens, private terraces and outdoor seating areas you can enjoy the wonderful north Yorkshire air in a stunning setting.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guest Access:
The Lakehouse is located on the grounds of Raithwaite Estate.

Guests have access to the full property. The property is accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

There is plenty of private on-site parking available to guests staying at The Lakehouse.

Please note there is a high retaining wall at the side of the property so we ask children to be closely watched at all times when in the outdoor area.

The Neighborhood:
The Lakehouse situated on the Raithwaite Estate, Sandsend, located a just a 10-minute drive from the centre of Whitby so you’ll be within short distance of all that the town has to offer. You’ll find cosy cafes, restaurants and shops lining the historic streets in the town.

On Pier Road, you’ll find fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants where you can sample the catch of the day.

The other side of Whitby is full of narrow, mediaeval streets dotted with boutiques and pubs. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around:
The Lakehouse is located in Sandsend on the outskirts of Whitby,

Whitby train station is just a short 15-minute drive away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

This vacation home is located in Whitby. Whitby Museum and Whitby Pavilion are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Whitby Abbey and Whitby Lighthouse. Museum of Victorian Science and The Moors National Park Centre are also worth visiting.
