This superb, Grade II listed detached stone property with an 8-person hot tub, lies in the small village of Snainton, between Scarborough and Pickering. Full of warmth and character, The Lodge provides unique accommodation for family groups to enjoy time together in a wonderful part of the country. From the moment you step inside this stunning property, you will be delighted with the luxuriously furnished, spacious rooms, which retain many original features of this beautiful building. There are Victorian tiles along the hallway, Edwardian tiles in the annex and cast-iron garden furniture to relax on with a cup of tea. The large sociable kitchen has a quarry tiled floor, with bespoke units, an American-style fridge/freezer, and a central island breakfast bar, enabling guests to sit and chat, whilst preparing tasty family meals using the gas range cooker and electric ovens. Entertaining is no problem here, with a formal dining room that seats eighteen people and two bright and comfortable sitting rooms. Toast your toes by the cosy woodburning stove in one room, or quietly relax with a book in the other; there is plenty of space to spread out here. Set over three floors, there are eight bedrooms, with a mix of sumptuous super-king and twin beds, all with quality bedding and mattresses to ensure a good night's sleep. On the top floor, the two bedrooms lead into each other and share a bathroom, making it an ideal private retreat for one family unit, whilst the ground floor super-king double has its own separate shower room. To the rear of the property, is an enclosed lawned garden, perfect for a relaxing drink after a day spent exploring the area and a safe place for children to play and let off steam. The bubbling hot tub, located in a sheltered sunny spot, is sure to be a big hit with everyone, where you can socialize and unwind after a busy day. A five-minute walk brings you to two local inns serving food, a traditional village store and a fish and chip shop. There are many nearby walks, both along the Forge Valley and Dalby Forest, which has numerous cycling tracks for all abilities, whilst a few minutes’ drive brings you to the popular seaside resort of Scarborough, with its sandy beaches, painted beach huts and donkey rides. Stroll along the promenade, enjoy the ornamental gardens, or dine in one of the many excellent restaurants. The historic market towns of Pickering, Malton and Kirkbymoorside are all worth exploring, or you can take a trip on the North York Moors Steam Railway, which puffs its way from Pickering to Grosmont through the spectacular scenery of the heather clad moors. With both countryside and coast to discover, your first visit to this exceptional property will not be your last!
