The picturesque village of Holtby is set in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds and makes a lovely base for exploring North Yorkshire. The vibrant and historic city of York (6 miles) is known for its quaint cobbled streets, fascinating museums and historic buildings. Attractions include York Minster, The Shambles, Jorvik and Castle Museum. Outside the city there are miles of beautiful walks and cycle trails to enjoy with stunning scenery and plenty of pubs and restaurants in the surrounding towns and villages including Flaxton and Sutton on the Forest (both 9 miles). Heading north, you can visit Castle Howard (12 miles) and Kirkham Abbey (10 miles) which are in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On arriving at this delightful reverse level bolthole, head up to the first floor where you will find the bright, spacious and tastefully furnished open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The light filled lounge is a cosy space to relax in, complete with Smart TV and plenty of comfortable seating. A Juliet balcony offers charming views out across the gardens of the manor house.
