The bathroom is modern, with a bath and shower, perfect for relaxing after a day at the coast.

Ruswarp Country Escape offers a romantic holiday home for two, situated in the pretty village of Ruswarp, just two-miles from Whitby on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Located on a steep hill, leading down to the River Esk, the views in this area are beautiful, perfect for long walks, outdoor activities and picnics in the summer sun. Ruswarp offers classic local shops, including a butcher, grocery store and bakery, as well as a local pub where you can stop off in the afternoon. Whilst there is parking at the property, there are also local bus services that connect the village to the surrounding area.

Within the local vicinity there is plenty to see and do. You can rent rowing boats or canoes to explore the calm waters of the River Esk. For kids, the miniature steam railway in Ruswarp is also very popular, open from May until October for a cheap thrill around the grounds in Ruswarp. The area is very well known among walkers, with the renowned Esk Valley Walk going straight through the village. In fact, you can follow this national hiking trail from Ruswarp, all the way to Whitby, taking in the fantastic views and countryside along the way!

Whitby is a charming seaside town of the east coast of North Yorkshire famous for its vampire legends and impressive whalebone arch. The River Esk splits the town in half, with the majestic Whitby Abbey on the East Cliff, a dazzling Gothic ruin steeped in history and the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’, and to the West is West Cliff Beach, with golden sands lined with beach huts. For a challenge, you can climb the 199 steps to the Abbey and the Church of St. Mary. At the top, there are incredible views across the North Sea, and you can stop to watch the brightly coloured fishing vessels on the horizon.
