Wander out to Whitby's East Pier and East Lighthouse before venturing into the town to find a spot for lunch, choosing from a host of restaurants, cafés, pubs and classic fish and chip shops. Pass the Whalebone Arch or stop to get a holiday snap and set up camp on the beach if you've got warm weather, with Whitby's sandy strip backed by colourful beach huts and Whitby Pavilion. For a memorable holiday excursion, head out on a boat trip with Whitby Whale Watching where cruises take passengers out to sea in search of whales, dolphins, seals and sea birds, it's sure to be a hit with any wildlife enthusiasts. Enjoy a guided walk around this historic town with Whitby Storyteller Guided Walks and Tours, or head to the local museums including the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and Whitby Museum. Walkers can delight in walks along the Cleveland Way, taking you along the beautiful coastline, whilst the disused railway line now transformed into The Cinder Track is perfect for walking and cycling as it's completely traffic free and runs all the way from Whitby down to Scarborough! The natural beauty of the North York Moors National Park is not to be missed either, with a host of walking and cycling routes to be discovered, whilst Scarborough offers a lovely day out with its own beaches, castle, waterpark and SEA LIFE centre.
