Thornton-Le-Dale 2.4 miles. Tucked away in the rural village of Allerston near Thornton Dale, North Yorkshire, is this stunning detached lodge, Stags Mount. Enjoying a superb location on the outskirts of the North York Moors National Park, and offering easy access to the coast, Stags Mount is a fantastic dog-friendly choice for couples or a family of four. Upon arrival, you will find two off-road parking spaces, and a lovely front decked area with furniture, electric barbecue, and an indulgent hot tub, perfect for evenings dining alfresco followed by a relaxing dip whilst taking in the stunning countryside views. Be welcomed into the open-plan living space, which features underfloor heating, where you can cook up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen, ready to savour the fruits of your labour at the dining table for four over a celebratory bottle of fizz. After dinner, retire to the sumptuous sofas and relax in front of the crackling woodburning stove, as your favourite show plays out on the Smart TV. Completing the ground floor is a beautifully decorated super-king-size with zip/link, and a well-appointed bathroom with gorgeous freestanding bath and walk-in shower. Head upstairs where you will find a tastefully decorated king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and separate cloakroom. Thornton-Le-Dale is only a short drive away and offers a good selection of amenities, such as a well-stocked convenience store, the lovely Lavenders Tea Rooms, where you can grab a sweet treat, or The New Inn for hearty pub fare. Pickering, not far away, features a magnificent castle from the 13th century and the remarkable North Yorkshire Moors Railway, on which visitors can ride a vintage steam train through the North Yorkshire Moors for 18 miles while taking in the breath-taking scenery. You can climb Ingleby Incline and The Wainstones, explore the ruins at Cawthorn Roman Camp and Mount Grace Priory, and fly through the trees at Go Ape in Dalby Forest, all within the confines of the National Park. Drive along the coast to Scarborough and spend the day at the beach, canoeing or kayaking, visiting the historic Scarborough Castle, or experiencing the thrills of Luna Park or Alpamare. The Cinder Track, which winds its way to Whitby, Peasholm Park, and the Scarborough Open Air Theatre are also worth visiting. For a memorable escape to North Yorkshire, choose Stags Mount.
