A hug from the snug! Hilltop Snug is warm and welcoming and has a wonderful natural flow. The whole of the ground floor can be made one, airy open plan room, or the kitchen/diner can be separated from the living room with pocket doors. The tasteful kitchen is complete with Laura Ashley fittings, Siemens and Swan appliances and all the utensils you would need to make self catering an easy option. There is a toilet and wash basin on the ground floor too for your convenience.
Our 'Nidderdale' bedroom is on the first floor and tastefully decorated in tranquil colours. It has bedside tables and built in wardrobes along with additional drawers and a dressing table. We want you to be comfortable and have the best possible chance of a good nights sleep. With that in mind, so you can unwind and relax in a comfortable Tempur, Super King bed . We receive many guest comments on the quality and comfort of the bed.
We also have our Wharfedale bedroom decorated in grey and gold. It also has bedside tables and built in wardrobes along with additional drawers and a dressing table. Don't worry, it also has a Tempur bed too but a King Size this time.
You will find a spacious family bathroom on the same floor, complete with a toilet and a shower over the bath.
The courtyard style outdoor seating areas to the front and rear of the house are both little sun traps. Great for that bit of eating and drinking Al fresco with friends and family. Unusually, there are two dedicated parking spaces to the front of the house with an Electric charging point (three pin connection). There is a convenient, outside hosepipe which will help clean those muddy boots and dogs.
The location is perfect. At the top of the High Street with easy access to the two local butchers, two bakers, pubs, cafes, two fresh produce and general stores and a fresh fish mongers to name but a few! Take the ‘Pork Pie Challenge’! Who’s are the best? Kendalls Butchers or Weatherheads? This has divided families before now, let me tell you!
Now comes the best bit and why you should be here; The draw of our lovely rolling hills in the Yorkshire Dales. Luxury Parker Properties' 'Hilltop Snug' resides in Nidderdale, which is designated an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ by HM Govt’s, Natural England. It is a walkers paradise both the two legged and four legged versions. For the fitter walkers why not try your hand at The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge which takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours.
For our little friends there is a fun-packed play ground just opposite the show ground which will keep them entertained for hours (there is always an ice-cream van there!). There are tennis courts too for all to enjoy at the park.
In addition, there are plenty of bridal ways and established routes for Mountain Bikers (MTBs) and of course for the road cyclists there is the infamous Greenhow Hill and also Buttertubs is not too far away both of which featured on the Tour De Yorkshire.
For those who like nothing better than to browse around shops we have plenty to choose from in the local village of Pateley Bridge and further a field, there are the picturesque towns of Ilkley, Skipton, Ripon, Knaresborough and of course the Spa town of Harrogate, each having their own charm and character.
For the City lovers wanting to get your Harvey Nichols fix, we have Leeds with its Victoria Quarter or the charming historic York with the famous ‘Shambles’, as well as the Castle Walls, museums and River tours. Both Cities are only an hour away.
We are incredibly lucky to have the magical 5 star Grantley Hall on our doorstep (10 minutes by car) which offers a range of culinary delights. The Shaun Rankin Michelin star tasting experience cannot be missed, neither the afternoon tea (the selection of tea is inspiring!). Then of course there is Restaurant 88 for the Pan Asian delicacies and the newly opened ‘Orchard’ where classic drinks combine with contemporary dining favourites to create a more laid-back dining experience.
For the Gin lovers among you, we have 3 local distilleries all within a stones throw of each other and all offering unique blends. We have Harrogate Gin in Ripley, Whittaker's at Dacre Bank and Slingsby’s in Harrogate.
So as you can see there is plenty to keep you busy!
We know your staycation is an important holiday for you. We hope that Hilltop Snug has a small part to play, in making it a holiday you won’t forget. We can accept requests for later check outs but we cannot always guarantee this is possible. Extensions will incur a further charge of £20 per hour.
