Summary:
Captain’s Retreat is an ultra-stylish and modern holiday home just a few minutes stroll from the centre of Whitby. With glorious views of the Abbey, the property has been decorated to the highest standard. Sleeping up to six guests, this three-bedroom property has everything you need for a luxury staycation on the North Yorkshire coast.
With a free EV charger located in the property’s private parking space, this is the perfect base to explore everything this amazing part of the UK has to offer.
The Space:
Opened in July 2021, Captain’s Retreat offers a flexible living space and has been expertly designed to provide the perfect luxury holiday home in Whitby.
The heart of Captain’s Retreat is the open-plan living and kitchen area on the top floor. A wonderfully bright and spacious area to enjoy special moments with your family and friends, you’ll find French doors that open out onto a juliet balcony which enjoys the sun for much of the day, allowing the outside to come inside. Whether you are sitting back in front of the top of the range Samsung TV or challenging your family to a game of backgammon, you will enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Spa Well Court.
The kitchen is fully equipped to make the most of your self-catering stay, including the added bonus of a Nespresso machine for that much-needed coffee in the morning before starting your day!
There is also a cosy dining area where you can enjoy meals with your loved ones in comfort.
There are three bedrooms in Captain’s Retreat, all featuring high-end beds and plush bedding for a first-class sleep.
The main king size bedroom is on the ground floor and is a lovely haven for relaxing.
Head to the first floor and you’ll find the second king size bedroom. Offering a little piece of luxury, the room can also be made up as a twin if requested upon booking.
The third bedroom is home to twin bunk beds, making this room particularly suitable for children and teenagers.
There is both a bathroom and a separate shower room at Captain’s Retreat. With this in mind, there is no need for arguments over who is getting ready first during your seaside getaway.
Outside, the landscaped garden wraps around the house and catches much of the sun throughout the day.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There will be one allocated modern parking space at the complex which can be used for the duration of your stay.
Please note that a significant number of steps lead up to the property from the car parking space.
The Neighborhood:
Should you manage to tear yourself away from your luxury accommodation, you will enjoy the fabulous location of Captain’s Retreat. You are moments from Captain Cook’s Endeavour and the hustle and bustle of Whitby Harbour. The area is famous for the quality of its fish and chip restaurants, where you can sample the local catch of the day.
Continue to explore by crossing the swing bridge, built-in 1908 to connect the East and West sides of the town, passing by enticing Whitby Jet jewellery shops, and you will soon start your ascent towards the Abbey.
Step outside of Whitby, and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park, so it’s the perfect place for long walks and discovering new pastures.
Getting Around:
Captain’s Retreat is located in the centre of Whitby, so the town can easily be explored on foot.
Whitby train station is just a short walk away, so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4, and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. Finally, the 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
Interaction with Guests:
We’re always available for our guests so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
