Soda Cottage is a modern self-catering holiday home situated on the East side of Whitby in Hoggarths Yard. This luxury four bedroom, two bathroom property has been furnished to a high standard and is perfect for a family break by the sea. With a private enclosed sun trap of a courtyard, allocated parking on-site and the bustling streets of Whitby town centre just a short stroll away, Soda Cottage is the perfect retreat to explore everything Whitby has to offer.

The Space:
Upon entering the property, you’ll be welcomed into the bright and spacious living, kitchen and dining room. Fully equipped for self-catering stays, the kitchen has modern appliances and high-end fittings including an oven and hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and dishwasher.

Featuring a round dining table, six dining chairs and a separate breakfast bar, there is ample seating for your whole party to enjoy meals together.

Towards the other end of the space, you’ll find the living area which includes two comfy sofas and a flat-screen Smart TV with a DVD player. The perfect spot to kick back and relax, you can turn on the TV and keep up with your favourite shows during your stay.

Soda Cottage boasts four bedrooms, three of which are on the first floor. The first bedroom boasts a double bed whilst the second two bedrooms are home to single beds.

Modern and sleek in design, the family bathroom features a bathtub with an overhead shower, WC and wash basin.

The master bedroom is located on the second floor and boasts a comfortable super king bed along with a freestanding bathtub. A separate ensuite bathroom is also available to guests staying in the top floor bedroom, and here you’ll find a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Each bedroom at Soda Cottage benefits from premium bed linens and plush bedding to ensure you have a great night’s sleep.

Outside there is a private yard with outdoor furniture including a sofa, along with barbeque facilities. An added bonus in Whitby, this space is ideal for enjoying a morning coffee or alfresco meals.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

Private on-site parking is for one vehicle. Additional parking can be found around Whitby in pay and display car parks.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Soda Cottage per reservation.

Please note that charcoal is not provided for the barbeque facilities.

The Neighborhood:
Set on the East side of Whitby, Soda Cottage is located just a short stroll from Whitby’s narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the West bank. Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around:
The centre of Whitby is a short walk from Soda Cottage.

Whitby train station is less than a mile away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Whitby Harbour and Whitby Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore North York Moors National Park and Whitby Beach. Museum of Victorian Science and The Moors National Park Centre are also worth visiting.
