Just 8 miles north is the popular town of Wooler, with excellent walking and cycling routes, a golf course, river walks, shops, galleries, pubs, and restaurants. Visit magnificent Alnwick Castle and Gardens, (10 miles), and Rothbury (11.5 miles), home to Cragside House and Gardens and walks in the Simonside Hills. The stunning beach and golf course in Alnmouth (14.8 miles) is one of many local seaside villages. Head into the National Park for outstanding natural beauty, birds, wildlife, and a range of walking and cycling trails.
