Head down the lift and out to the street, you’ll reach the shops in minutes, there are also plenty of pubs, delis, cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as a superb boutique ice cream parlour. If you would like to see some local wildlife, you can take a boat trip from the pier and out to Coquet Island, known for its abundance of seabirds, especially in summer. If you would like to travel a little further afield, Warkworth castle and its picturesque village is just a short drive away, where you can find an art gallery, some little shops and the beach! Other places nearby definitely worth a visit are Alnmouth, Seahouses and Bamburgh.
