Town: Eight miles north of Northumberland's picturesque market town of Alnwick, lies the charming village of Christon Bank. Not only are Alnwick's beautiful castle and gardens close at hand, but visitors to the area are also only a mere two miles from the lovely bays at Embleton and Low Newton-by-the-Sea. These wonderful bays lay on a strip of unspoiled sandy beaches and are only a brief drive from the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, and the other nature-rich Farne Islands. Set in the rolling hills, this lovely little villagehas a traditional, real ale pub, which also serves food, but for more variety of cuisine, the neighbouring villages also host a number of excellent restaurants. The Scottish Borders are within easy reach, as is the lively cosmopolitan city of Newcastle upon Tyne.
