Cocking Hill House sits between Clumber, Thoresby, Rufford and Sherwood parks in Nottinghamshire. We welcome DIY weddings. You can use our garden for your ceremony and reception, though note there is no wedding venue licence. For rainy days the dining room will comfortably fit 30-40 people. Or you can bring your own marquee.
The cottage has 7 bedrooms: two doubles with en suites and two king bedrooms, a twin and two family bathrooms. An additional 6th room is attached to the master room - it has a double sofa bed and a privacy door.
From March 2022 there will be a 7th bedroom downstairs with accessible en-suite shower room. Accommodates 14 comfortably if some rooms are shared. Dining room is usually set up for 12, but we seated 68 guests for our own wedding here.
Our kitchen has a range with 2 electric ovens and 5 gas hobs. There’s an additional oven and grill and a small 4th oven in the utility room adjoining the kitchen. There are 2 fridges.
Outside is a spacious garden with fire-pit and 5 acre field.

When booking for a DIY wedding or celebration a 3rd day can be added for £350 in peak times and £200 in off-peak, which allows you to set up and clear up, with less time pressure - or an extra day for you or guests to relax.

Additional services for rent for DIY weddings and family celebrations include small gazebo, crockery and cutlery for 40 (provided for 14 in price), wood for fire pit, tables and chairs, gas BBQ. Please enquire for details.

Parking for 6 cars - up to 18 cars if you park on the grass.

Located in Newark, this vacation home is in a rural area. Kelham Hall & Country Park and Mr Straw's House are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Worksop Golf Club and Oakmere Park Golf Club. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at National Grid Training Centre or Field Mill.
