Riverside Rest is a charming split-level cottage in the centre of Ollerton Village, close to Newark, Nottinghamshire.
Boasting an enviable location nestled in the heart of the village with very short walks to two lovely local pubs, a superb Italian restaurant and an award-winning tearoom beautifully positioned next to the quaint watermill & River Maun.
It is an ideal base for families wanting to explore the surrounding country parks and estates, with lots of walking & cycling trails nearby.
Our split-level property is a 3-bed self-catering entire home in a small row of cottages dating back to the 1800s and steeped in history. It is newly refurbished and tastefully decorated to give a wonderful quirky, country feel and provide everything you need for a perfect village stay!
Beautifully presented and immaculately clean, the home still has many original features such as oak beams and low-level ceilings.
Sleeping up to six and set over three floors, the cottage is accessible through a private entrance and spacious hallway which doubles as perfect storage for bikes, golf clubs, coats and boots. Once inside, a few stairs lead to the living room, kitchen / diner and large family bathroom complete with a free-standing roll top bath and separate walk-in shower. A few more steps up to the second level where you’ll find a a cosy snug and light and airy master bedroom with a King size bed. A winding staircase leads up to the third-floor loft-style space with two additional bedrooms – one with a double bed, the other with twin beds which can be configured to make a double on request.
Although the property does not have any outdoor space, it is just a few steps away from the historic watermill and garden where the River Maun flows through, along with the many open fields and woodlands surrounding Ollerton village.
Kindly note, smoking is not permitted, and we are unable to accommodate pets. Due to the stairs and multiple levels, this property is not suitable for those with restricted mobility.
Prior to your arrival, we will send you the key box location and code allowing you access to the property on check in. Alternatively, one of our team can meet you on arrival to hand over the keys and answer any questions you may have.
We live close by and are always on hand should you require any assistance during yur stay.

The Cottage allows for one car to be parked in front of the cottage, with free village car parking located just across the road for any additional cars.
A bus stop is situated 20 metres from the property, with regular services to Newark, Mansfield, Nottingham and Worksop.
There are many local cycle trails which are easily accessed from the property. National Cycle routes and Sherwood Pines are within the locality. Cycles can be hired from Sherwood Pines also.
The home offers free WiFi, three smart TVs with Netflix for you to enjoy.
Accommodation balance is due 28 days prior to check in, no payment will be taken until this date. For bookings made within 28 days the full balance will be charged at time of booking.
A security deposit of £200 will automatically be held on the credit/Debit card provided upon check in and automatically refunded after inspection of the property on check out.
Through our website we can only accept bookings 9 months in advance. However, we are always happy to reserve dates for guests who have special occasions in our local area. please contact us to enquire about a future provisional booking. Please note for future bookings the balance is required 2 months prior to check in.
This vacation home is located in Newark. Mr Straw's House and Southwell Workhouse are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Worksop Golf Club and Oakmere Park Golf Club. Walesby Forest and Wheelgate Park are also worth visiting.
