Historic Home With Modern Twist In Central Oxford, Oxford

Oxfordshire. Sleeps up to 5

When I first walked into Wharf House, one of the only two original buildings of the ancient St Ebbe's parish, my reaction was “This place needs character and soul.” The building was adapted to a pub where Karl Marx used to drink and then changed into a rental property. It was neglected afterwards. The redesign exudes balance of heritage and modernity. While old sash windows and ashlar walls are remained, Timothy Oulton furniture, Gaggenau appliances and Dornbracht faucets culture high-end living.

Our living room is layered with texture. Iconic Timothy Oulton crystal pendant light welcome our guests at the entrance door, inspired by extravagant styles of English pubs in mid 19th century. The living room is anchored by a vintage style Fendi soft leather sofa and a Timothy Oulton handfinished distressed leather sofa to create a distinctive signature look. A Timothy Oulton coffee table marries the elegance of black marble with a nod to old England in its brass detailing. A huge crocodile leather mirror leans towards 200-year old stone wall, reflecting old memories in the new. All these elements create a unique space for both relaxing with family members and having fun with friends.

The newly refurbished open-plan kitchen feature modern Gaggenau kitchen appliances to create an aesthetic and functional space in contrast to the 19th century building. Without unnecessary gimmicks, the 400 series induction cooktop and 200 series oven make creative cooking much easier.

The living room stairs lead to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Whether you are tired of shopping at Bicester Village or visiting colleges, our Vispring Tiara beds, with triple layers of vanadium steel springs and handfuls of vicuña wool, will give you a sleeping experience unlike anything else. And we do not overlook luxury in bathroom design. Our luxury Dornbracht showers and water solution provide healing travel-induced dullness.

Our apartment is located in one of the most sought-after addresses in Oxford. Walking around the city is easy, with many colleges, key landmarks, and train station within a 10 minutes’ walk. It is neighbored by Westgate Oxford. Westgate Oxford is a destination to shop an abundance of brands from best of British to international, but also to eat, drink, meet friends and wat the sunset over the city;’s famous spires.

Located on a river, this apartment is in Oxford City Centre, a neighborhood in Oxford. New Theatre Oxford and Oxford Playhouse are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Oxford Ice Rink and Oxford Greyhound Stadium. Iffley Village and Waterperry Gardens are also worth visiting. Motor boating offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling nearby.
