Aslan is a combination of two cottages (Cobnut & Chestnut) which are linked together through a secret Narnia inspired wardrobe doorway. It's the perfect place for larger families or multi generational families to stay. Cobnut & Chestnut cottage are two of five award-winning luxury self-catering holiday cottages lovingly converted from old stone farm buildings set in 70 acres of private meadow and woodland. An exquisite and tranquil base for exploring the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
This very individual five star & gold standard rated stone cottage offer guests the ultimate in comfort, quality and cleanliness and a chance to enjoy the very high standards of craftsmanship which is the hallmark of this idyllic retreat. A stunning courtyard with water feature and stone archway looking out to the Cotswold hills compliments the cottage.
You'll be warmly welcomed to the farm by the Barbour family. They live on site and will be happy to get you settled in and are available 7 days a week. Unlimited firewood, fresh flowers, cake and crisp clean spring water (on tap!) all from the farm are supplied upon your arrival.
David and Nena Barbour with their family have spent over forty years making Heath Farm what it is today. They look forward to welcoming you to share what they have created.

The space-
Cobnut cottage - A spacious entrance veranda leads into the living room area with a beautiful solid elm floor, quality sofa and armchairs and open fire place. To the right through a beautiful elm door is a small cloakroom with airing room and washing machine and downstairs toilet.A beautiful solid ash open tread staircase with oak panelling to the side leads to the 2 ensuite bedrooms. The front room overlooking the courtyard has an exquisite shower room with exposed stone wall, Venetian marble tiling and oak panelling with an electronic power shower. The rear bedroom looks out across the pond and valley beyond, the ensuite bathroom through frosted glass panelled doors features Venetian marble tiling and a deep oak panelled bath.Both bedrooms have solid oak floors, ample storage and handmade hardwood beds which can be arranged either as 2 single beds or zip linked together to make super king-size doubles. Top quality firm orthopaedic mattresses and beautiful Egyptian cotton linen make for comfortable nights.The windows afford stunning views across the valley and into the courtyard. The dining area has a large refectory table in solid elm which can seat up to 8 people. Adjacent to the table is the oak framed kitchen which has a granite work top and stainless steel fittings with all modern equipment.
Chestnut Cottage - Chestnut, on the ground floor of the main converted barn, is very spacious and luxurious for two people. From the tiled outside area with solid stone slab seating you enter a small lobby which leads into the solid oak kitchen. You then pass through beautiful solid ash double doors set in a wooden screen to reach the comfortable living and dining area. An unusual open fire, exposed joists and beams and African slate floor make this a most sumptuous apartment. A large sofa bed allows two extra guests to be accommodated in comfort.
The bedroom, through a curtained wooden archway features a curved window seat and reading table with a lovely view of the pond and Cotswold valley beyond. There are internal wooden shutters which gives your bedroom ultimate seclusion. The luxurious ensuite bathroom features oak panelling and an African slate wet floor. It has a deep, comfortable bath with overhead shower.
From the open plan living area with comfortable armchairs and elegant oak-framed French windows you are welcomed you out onto the sun trapped courtyard where you'll find your own seating area nestled between the potted Lemon tree and Hydrangea.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive access of the cottage listed. Outdoor table and chairs are set aside within the courtyard for each cottage. We supply picnic hamper sets, BBQ's and fire pits so you can relax, unwind and dine in the courtyard, meadows and woodland of Heath Farm.
Guests are welcome and encouraged to explore the 70 acres of beautiful woodland with walking and cycling trails . There's a games lawn with a fully stocked games shed. Guests can enjoy croquet, kite flying, badminton, volleyball and Giant Jenga. We also have a 14ft trampoline, swings and slide. There's also an outdoor chess & draughts set inlaid within the courtyard for guests to enjoy.
For wet weather days we have an indoor games room with pool table, tennis table, darts board and movie projector. There's also a host of board games and wooden children's toys which guests are welcome to take to the cottages. There's a wealth of Information on walking and cycling routes, nature trails and attractions either in the games room or at reception. We have Walkers & Cyclists Welcome accreditation and as such have a drying room and safe bike storage room.


Interaction with guests
Invariably there is someone in the main house available to help or answer questions throughout the day and early evening. We ask all guest to be respectful of each other and to not disturb the peace and tranquility of the cottages and courtyard.

This cottage is located in Banbury. Blenheim Palace and Rousham House and Gardens are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include The National Herb Centre and Steane Park Garden.
