Bwthyn Gynon, Trefasser, Near Strumble Head

Pembrokeshire Coast. Sleeps up to 4

Strumble Head 3.5 miles, Fishguard 5 miles, St Davids 13.5 miles. Set in a peaceful spot amidst the Pembrokeshire countryside and near the iconic Strumble Head Lighthouse, is the white-washed, semi-detached cottage of Bwthyn Gynon. Ideal for families who want to explore the outdoors, the property enjoys views of the countryside and Garn Fawr, whilst also providing handy private parking for two cars. On arrival, make your way inside and hang your coats in the porch area, before taking in your charming accommodation, with one of the key features being the original tile flooring. Head to the lounge/diner, a space packed with character, thanks to its original chimney space, the impressive 'Simne Fawr', which now holds the rustic dining table. There is also an attractively fitted, shaker-style galley kitchen offering a plethora of appliances. Once a delicious meal has been savoured, continue to the sitting room, a pleasant space offering plush seating in front of the TV whilst also hosting a wood burning stove, for those cooler months, and a DVD player with plenty of DVDs for you to enjoy. As the day winds down, continue upstairs to find two fabulous bedrooms, the first of which enjoys spacious interiors, whilst the other features a bed that is situated opposite the window, so you can enjoy those amazing views as you relax. Before taking to bed, you can enjoy an invigorating rinse under the p-shaped bath's rainfall shower in the bathroom. The property is accompanied by two wonderful outdoor spaces, with one being a front lawned area, and the other comprising a rear garden enclosed by mature shrubs, which makes for a lovely space for some alfresco dining. Take in the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast Path which is less than a mile's walk from the cottage or travel a short distance to Strumble Head for one of Pembrokeshire's picture-postcard sights, before taking in a cuppa at the cafe at Melin Tregwynt (working woollen mill with shop). Then head down to the city of St Davids, home to a breath-taking cathedral and nearby beaches, including the beautiful Whitesands Bay. For more coastal fun, go coasteering and Abereiddi's Blue Lagoon before enjoying a sumptuous meal in Porthgain's Sloop Inn or The Shed bistro - take your pick! Finally, head back to Fishguard, where the last invasion of mainland Britain, in 1797, happened nearby. View the incredible Last Invasion Tapestry in Fishguard's Town Hall and the story of our indomitable Jemima Nicholas! There is still so much more to see in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, from the mythical Preseli Hills down to Marloes Sands! A fantastic stay awaits at Bwthyn Gynon.
