Newport also offers the family the chance to enjoy the seaside at Newport Sands and the sporting members of the group could play a round at Newport Golf Club. The historians can visit the stunning 5,500 year old Neolithic Burial Chamber at Pentre Ifan - truly one of the picture postcard images of Wales. The bustling market town of Cardigan is well worth a visit, with a High St of independent retail outlets and Cardigan Castle which hosted the first ever Welsh Eisteddfod in 1176.
