Nestled among rolling, green countryside with sheep grazing close by and lambs in the springtime, Red Kite Lodge rests peacefully on the outskirts of Bettws Cedewain. This is the ideal escape to the country for families and friends looking to tour a lovely part of Wales, a stone's throw from the English border with the Shropshire towns and villages within easy reach. Entrance is gained through the utility area, where you have space to kick off your shoes and hang up your coats, while the handy washer, tucked under a unit, comes in useful after a long, muddy walk through verdant countryside. Spend quality time with your loved ones in the open-plan living room and unwind into your evening by the woodburner, which keeps you toasty and warm during the winter season. You can rustle up a family feast in the kitchen and get together around the dining table before reclining in front of the TV as the evening draws in. Throw open the patio doors to the decking on a summer's day and absorb that peaceful, countryside atmosphere as a cool breeze fills the indoor space. With part of the enclosed decking having a glass balustrade, you can admire the countryside views right from the sitting area - the owners really have thought of everything! The king-size double offers a lovely, country feel with lots of attention to detail, bedside tables and lamps as well as a wall-mounted TV. You have Jack-and-Jill access to the family shower room, which also acts as an en-suite to the twin bedroom. This has zip/link beds, which can be made up into a super king-size double for couples, or left as a twin for those traveling with children or friends. Sit out on the decking one balmy afternoon and enjoy a refreshing beverage as you drink in the luscious, green scenery surrounding you with views towards the lakes in the distance. Alternatively, dip in the hot tub and ooze in a spot of luxury as a fine summer's evening draws out and you can make the most of this serene setting. There is plenty to see and do in terms of walking and cycling in the area, with clay pigeon shooting and quad biking opportunities also available. Head to the town of Montgomery, which offers a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with the ruins of its 13th-century castle, while Bishop's Castle, across the border, offers live music and festivals the year-round. Spend a day exploring Cardigan Bay exploring the wonderful beaches or drive up to the Snowdonia National Park for many outdoor activities including water sports, caving, climbing and bird watching. This is a fabulous retreat for your next break in Wales.
