Alternatively, the local bustling market town of Rhayader is one mile away where you can sit and enjoy its restaurants and cafés or for those feeling active, venture just 150 yards to the Elan and Claerwen Valley, where you will find miles of walking routes amid breath-taking scenery, as well as cycling in the Elan Valley. If you fancy a complete change of scene, less than an hour’s drive away you can visit the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth on the West Wales coast or take a day trip further north to the National Trust property of Powis Castle, a medieval castle, providing a dramatic backdrop for its celebrated gardens.
